This little house situated in the middle of ocean, 30 minutes away from main land

One of the best places where I spent most of my summer vacations is Naawan Island. It is surrounded by small islets, with a small house situated on a giant rock. That house is the only place where you can leave your belongings and food, and it is available only to those who reserve it.

This place is open to the public, and you do not need to spend much money to get there. It is about 30 minutes from the mainland of Negros by motorboat or pump boat. Around ₱300 is enough for a round-trip fare. Overnight stays are not allowed.

Other side of the islet with house on it...

This is a family-owned place, but it is open to everyone. You may visit during daylight hours, but you must leave before nighttime. Staying overnight is not allowed because it is a sea turtle nesting area.

Every night, around 10 to 15 sea turtles come to the white-sand beaches of the island to lay their eggs. It is truly a protected area. You are not allowed to take anything from the island, including live shells or other living creatures.

Taking photos is allowed, so bring your camera or smartphone and enjoy the beauty of the island.
