There are beach destinations that are known for resorts, restaurants, and busy crowds. Then there are places like Elemnan Manok Bay—quiet, raw, and still close to nature.

Located in Cauayan, Negros Occidental, Elemnan Manok Bay is a little-known coastal area near Punta Bulata White Beach Resort in Balaring, Elihan. It offers white sand, clear seawater, natural rock formations, scattered driftwood, and a peaceful view of Danjugan Island.

We visited Elemnan Manok Bay through the help of a local friend. From the nearby resort area, reaching the beach required around 30 minutes of walking. There was no public transportation going directly to the area, so the trip took some effort. However, the quiet shoreline and open sea view made the walk worthwhile.

Unlike developed beach resorts, Elemnan Manok Bay has no cottages, restaurants, or large structures. The beach remains mostly untouched, with driftwood along the shore and large rocks where visitors can sit, rest, and enjoy the sea breeze. It is a simple place for swimming, taking photos, or spending time away from the noise of the city.

The water was clear, and the shoreline had a mix of soft white sand and fine pebbles. We saw small crabs, shells, colorful fish, and coral areas near the water. Visitors should be careful when walking in the sea because sea urchins may be present in some areas. Wearing aqua shoes is a good idea.

One of the best parts of visiting Elemnan Manok Bay is the view of Danjugan Island. The island sits across the water and adds to the peaceful scenery, especially in the late afternoon. As the sun begins to set, the beach becomes even more relaxing, with soft light reflecting on the sea.

Entry to Elemnan Manok Bay is free, making it a good option for travelers looking for a simple and budget-friendly beach experience in Negros Occidental. Since there are no shops or facilities nearby, it is best to bring drinking water, food, sunscreen, swimming gear, and a bag for your trash.

Elemnan Manok Bay is not a luxury beach destination. It is a natural beach for people who enjoy quiet surroundings, clear water, and simple moments by the sea. A Peaceful Morning in Kubay, Sipalay

Good morning, everyone. It was a cold and refreshing morning here in Sipalay.

Yesterday, I visited one of my relatives and spent the night at their home. Their house is located beside the main highway, surrounded by green rice fields and open views of the sunrise. I arrived at night, so I did not immediately notice how beautiful and peaceful the place was.

When I woke up early this morning, everything looked different. The rising sun slowly lit the fields, the air felt fresh, and the sounds of birds and insects filled the quiet surroundings. It was around 6:00 a.m. when I stepped outside and truly appreciated the natural beauty of the place.

It was taken early morning today at 6am, i woke up early morning and went out from the house and see the beautiful and natural beauty of the earth.

The green rice fields were especially relaxing to see after a long sleep. Away from the noise, traffic, and rush of the city, the area felt calm and simple. This is one of the things I love about the province: you can enjoy your morning coffee while looking at nature instead of busy roads and buildings.

It is nice to live life in here

If given the chance, I would love to live in a place like this for the rest of my life. It is the kind of peaceful life many people dream about—a life away from stressful surroundings, close to nature, and filled with fresh air.

This place is located in Barangay Kubay, Sipalay City. It is one of the quieter barangays in the area, with only a few residences, including my relatives’ home. Farming is the main source of income for many families here. They spend much of their time caring for their rice fields, and after harvest, they have enough food for their households.

The people here are hospitable and friendly. Life is simple, but it feels meaningful.

No worries for the transportation, buses and passenger jeep are passing every hour.

There place is located newr the high way or main road, going to another city is very easy.

Transportation is also convenient because buses and passenger jeeps pass by regularly along the nearby highway. Traveling to another city may take time, but waiting for transportation is not a major problem. The area is also within walking distance of the seashore, where residents can buy fresh seafood or visit a nearby market for fish and other daily needs.

Barangay Kubay is a quiet reminder that a peaceful life does not always need luxury. Sometimes, a beautiful sunrise, green rice fields, fresh air, and a warm cup of coffee are already enough.

Fossil Hunting in Punta Marigpe, Sipalay

Our two-day visit to Sipalay was more than a quick vacation. After conducting a Steemit orientation at a local school, we used the remaining time to explore the natural beauty and hidden history of the area.

Punta Marigpe, This is the place where we hunt for a fossils.

One of our stops was Punta Marigpe, a landslide area known for exposing rocks and possible fossils beneath the surface. I visited the site with my brother Rommel, who has always enjoyed fossil hunting. The location was rough and natural, but it carried the feeling of stepping into a small piece of Earth’s ancient past.

One of our rare find, a petrified wood or a chunked of fossil wood and the other one is Sea urchin.

As we searched through the rocks and soil, we found several interesting pieces. Among our rarest finds were what appeared to be petrified wood—a hardened piece of ancient wood turned to stone over time—and a possible sea urchin fossil. We also found a small specimen that may have been coral.

Giant Cone Shell

We are not so sure about it, but this fossils is seems to be a giant cone shell.

Another object caught our attention because it resembled a giant cone shell. We cannot confirm its exact identity, but its shape and texture made it one of the most intriguing discoveries of the day. If it is truly a fossilized cone shell, it may represent marine life that existed millions of years ago.

For us, fossil hunting is not just about collecting unusual rocks. It is a way of connecting with history. Each fossilized piece may hold a story about the plants, animals, and environments that existed long before people walked the Earth.

We keep some of our fossil collections on display in our shop for visitors to see. They may be small objects, but they remind us that the land and sea around Sipalay hold stories that are far older than we can imagine.

Simala Shrine in Sibonga, Cebu, is a meaningful destination for many people. It is a place where visitors come to pray for hope during difficult times, ask God and the Blessed Virgin Mary for guidance, and give thanks for blessings received.

I first visited Simala before taking my board examination. I wrote a letter to Mother Mary, asking for guidance and help as I prepared for the exam. By God’s grace, I passed and became a Licensed Professional Teacher. That experience made my visit to Simala deeply personal and unforgettable.

Years later, I was happy to return with the person I love. My boyfriend was not a devoted Catholic, but he respected my faith and chose to come with me. We prayed for our families and loved ones, and we asked for guidance as we prepared for our upcoming wedding.

Simala Shrine, Sibonga, Cebu

Simala Shrine, also known as the Monastery of the Holy Eucharist, is one of the best-known religious destinations in Cebu. Its remarkable structure resembles a castle on a mountaintop, attracting pilgrims, families, and travelers from different parts of the Philippines.

The shrine is free to visit. It is best to bring essentials such as drinking water, an umbrella, and comfortable footwear. Visitors with a private car or motorcycle can travel directly to the area. Motorcycle taxis, locally called habal-habal, are also available for travelers going uphill.

During our visit, we left Dumaguete early in the morning and arrived in Simala after around three hours of travel. The journey was long, but the peaceful atmosphere of the shrine made it worthwhile.

Many visitors come not only to admire the European-inspired architecture and mountain setting, but also to pray. Inside the shrine, people patiently line up to visit the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary at the center of the church.

The shrine also displays letters and testimonies from people who believe their prayers were answered. Some share stories of passing examinations, finding work, recovering from illness, and receiving other blessings. Visitors can also see statues of saints and different representations of Mother Mary from around the world.

Simala Shrine is more than a beautiful tourist destination in Cebu. For many people, it is a place to reflect, pray, give thanks, and find strength through faith.

Facts About Simala Shrine, Sibonga, Cebu

Today's food trip: Halo2x and Burger with Fries at Cafe Filomina

I had a quick break after my morning class. I was craving for a "Halo2x and Burger" since yesterday. I was thinking for having a food trip next week since my @bobiecayao will be here but i cant wait enough. So what i did, i grab my vehicle and went to "Cafe Filomena ", its a popular restaurant that is located at the first floor of Bethel Guest house.
This is an awesome place indeed. They have the best hotel and they have affordable yet recommendable Delicious foods for everyone.

At the first floor, you can find the restaurant named Cafe Filomina. They have a lot of delicious foods anyway.

Just to stop my craving, i just bought these delicious foods. You can actually look for the best foods in their menu but Halo-halo and fries and burger is my choice. Oh, one best thing. This place is facing near the sea port and boulevard. You can find good scenic view in there.

Pinoy Style "Halo-Halo"

I just love Halo-halo with different mixed fruits and sweet ingredients. Its tasty, juicy and sweets.

Halo-halo is really good during hot season especially summer is fast approaching. Most of the restaurant here in our place are serving "Halo-Halo" to bring happiness to people who are "hot", haha..What i mean is, those people who are suffering from hot weather condition.

I ordered one serve of Halo-Halo and burger with fries, but i waited for for 10 minutes to serve. However it is all worth it after seeing this food in front of me.

Burger! Burger! this what makes me hungry every time i saw it posted somewhere else. I saw one of my friend in facebook posted it in her wall, so asked here about it and if where i can buy this delicious burger. Its actually bigger in size comparing to burger in fast food chain. It has the same price actually.

Whenever you got the chance to visit Dumaguete and want to have food trip, just beep me in. I can bring you to Cafe Filomena, but you have to treat me as well. =)

However, once you begin exploring beyond the famous tourist spots, you will discover many beautiful places that remain less known and less developed. Below are a few places from my personal travel experiences in Cebu and Negros.

Oslob, Cebu

Oslob is a great stop for travelers coming from Dumaguete or other parts of Negros on their way to Cebu. Along the road, there is a scenic overlooking area where travelers can rest and enjoy a distant view of the blue sea and Somilon Island.

During one of our motorcycle trips to Cebu, we stopped at this viewpoint to relax and take photos. The area was made for travelers, with tables, benches, and a terrace where visitors can sit and enjoy the view. At the time of our visit, there was no entrance fee.

It is a simple stop, but the sea view and fresh air make it worthwhile, especially for travelers who need a short break before continuing their journey.

Simala Shrine of Lindogon, Cebu

The Simala Shrine in Lindogon, Cebu, is one of the most distinctive places to visit in the province. Its large structure resembles a castle built among the mountains, making it an impressive sight even from a distance.

I featured Simala Shrine in a previous travel article, but it deserves to be included again because of its beauty and significance. Many visitors come to offer prayers and give thanks. Some people visit before taking board examinations, applying for jobs, or praying for loved ones who are sick.

Beyond its religious importance, Simala Shrine is also a memorable destination because of its architecture, mountain setting, and peaceful atmosphere.

Elemnan Manok Peak, Negros Occidental

Elemnan Manok Peak is a lesser-known viewpoint in Negros Occidental. It has not yet been developed as a major tourist destination, which gives it a more natural and quiet atmosphere.

The area is accessible by transportation, but visitors need to walk for around 30 minutes from the main road. The journey requires effort, but the experience becomes rewarding once you reach the top.

The landowner has kept the property despite receiving offers from wealthy buyers. The area has the potential to become a resort because of its wide, flat land, natural water sources, and scenic surroundings. For now, it remains free for visitors to explore.

There are no benches, tables, or accommodations in the area, so visitors should bring water, food, and any supplies they may need. Elemnan Manok Peak is best for travelers who enjoy nature, open views, and less crowded destinations.

Beautiful View of Turtle Island in Elihan, Cauayan, Negros Occidental

If you are looking for a peaceful coastal destination in Negros Occidental, consider visiting Elihan, Cauayan. This area is home to beautiful beaches, relaxing resorts, and scenic island views.

One of the nearby attractions is Turtle Island, a quiet and largely undeveloped island with a naturally beautiful setting. Visitors can enjoy white sand, clear water, and a calm atmosphere away from crowded tourist spots.

Turtle Island is especially beautiful in the late afternoon, when the sunset becomes visible over the horizon. The changing colors of the sky, the sound of the waves, and the open sea view create a relaxing experience for visitors.

Buglasan Festival is one of the popular event held every year,month of October at Dumagute city. Each year people are celebrating the festival with different activities, they have street dancing competition,booth display contest and fireworks display contest.

Every municipality of Negros Oriental showcased their booth display according to their natural resources and one that is very attractive is the 3d painting of Bais City.

Walking to a Paradise on hill top, Puncak Tanawan Balugo Sibulan Negros Oriental Philippines

Tanawan Puncak Philippines - It is located at Balugo Sibulan Negros Oriental Philippines. People called this place as mountain climber meditation station. Its a 30 minutes ride from the main road towards the first station where you can park your vehicle and 1 hour of walk from first station to hill top. Going there is not easy and its really tiring, travel with group is a good idea.

Paradise on the Hill Top
People who visited the Puncak Tanawan expressed their experiences, they described it as paradise on hill top. From above you can see the beauty of different Barangays and city below. You can see the beautiful sunrise if you went their early morning before sunrise. You can find different flowers and fruits, strawberry is very common. There are species out there called "gangis" their sounds like "siren" they defines the real nature. You can hear different sounds of birds and feel the cold air. Life on the hill top is really amazing

Rough and Muddy road
Going there is not easy, you will walk through muddy road, its not a road but a human path way. A stress relief indeed when you are on the destination.
