Sipalay City is one of the small City of Negros Occidental. It surounded with different resorts and eco-tourism project. Yesterday we spent time together with my old friends to take a visit with their beautiful spots. One of it is Langub Pool, a nature made pool inside the huge cave.
According to some locals , the langub was once a hide out of filipino guirella's during japanese regime. It became their home during war. The place is covered with huge trees and huge rock surrounded on it that it seems hard to be found.
Langub Entrance view, with a huge vines connected on roof
i learned that this place was part of the history during japanese war. Inside of the cave you find a small pool, with a cold water coming from the ground.
Small door going to small pool
Behind that small door, you can find a small pool. Its too dark in there. You need to have a flashlight to have a full view of what is inside.
We are not allowed to swim inside the pool without a guide. Our guide was just a resident of that area who knows where to locate it. People said, during night time there is a huge snake coming in and out of the cave. They believed that this snake is a guard of that area. No one is allowed to visit the langub during night time, of course...its creepy in there.
Small hole above the roof was once the entrance of the cave
The hole above them was once an entrance and exit passage of the cave. You need to habe a rope and a ladder. But the huge space inside will really make u wow.
The main entrance of the cave was actually not the original entrance. People who visited the place need to go through difficult small entrance on top of cave.
2004 when magnitude 4 earthquake hit Sipalay causing the part of the cave to colapsed and it is now became the main entrance of the cave.
Stalagmite, forming into amazing structure
Inside is a very silent place, youcan hear the sound of birds and bats and the loud water drops that caused stalagmites and stalactites to be made.
One of the amazing structure you can find inside the cave are the stalactites and stalagmites formation. They seems person standing in the dark, soem of them are glowing when hit by a small sun light.
How to get there?
Langub is located at Sipalay City, there is beach there named after it. They called it Langub beach. From Sipalay City you have to take a pumpboat to take you to other side. You have to cross the river. From Bacolod city, it takes 4 to 5 hours travel with bus going to Sipalay. When younget there, younhave to asks to take you Langub or anyon who can take you to a pumpboat station. Langub is just walking distance from Sugar resort, better to settle your self and your bagage in that place.
